On November 8, the BCOM campus hosted The Borderplex Alliance’s 2018 Distinguished Speaker Series. The Series brings internationally recognized leaders to the North American Borderplex to discuss the most relevant issues impacting the U.S.-Mexico Border. The speaker for the November event was Antonia Novello, MD, 14th Surgeon General of the United States. Dr. Novello was also the keynote speaker at BCOM’s inaugural White Coat Ceremony in August 2016. BCOM President John L. Hummer said, “We were honored to host this series for the Borderplex Alliance and to again welcome Dr. Novello. Her inspirational message of embracing diversity was received with a standing ovation.”
