Key Note Speaker: Dr. Robert Cain, President & Chief Executive Officer of the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine will address the graduating class. Over the past two decades, Dr. Cain has served on a number of local, state, and national committees, task forces, and boards in a variety of roles. As a specialist in pulmonary medicine, Dr. Cain was originally board certified in both internal medicine and pulmonary medicine, he was recertified by the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine (AOBIM) in pulmonary medicine in 2018.
Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine (BCOM) is set to celebrate its fifth graduating class on Friday, May 3, 2024, at 10:00 AM. The ceremony will take place at the Pan American Center at 1810 E. University Ave, Las Cruces, NM 88003.
BCOM is proud to announce the graduation of 147 student doctors, making it the largest graduating class among medical schools in the region this year. This achievement also comes on the heels of BCOM receiving the highest accreditation from American Osteopathic Association (AOA) Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA); which is Ten Years with Exceptional Outcome and affirming BCOM’s commitment and dedication in warranting the success of our student doctors.

We are immensely proud of their accomplishments and excited to see them embark on their careers as healthcare professionals, making a positive impact in the communities they serve,” said John Hummer, President of BCOM.

Burrell was founded in 2013, welcoming its inaugural class in 2016 in Las Cruces, NM. With this current graduating class BCOM will have 711 students who have graduated and successfully entered various fields of medicine. In July BCOM will welcome students to its new second campus located in Melbourne, FL.
