Burrell Students Host Fall Festival and 5K Run To Raise Money For Child Cancer Research

Students from multiple organizations at Burrell College hosted a Fall Festival and 5K to benefit childhood cancer research. This event, a mix of a trunk-or-treat festival and a 5K run, united students, faculty, and community members with a shared mission. 

“It’s a real privilege to be able to come out and help out the community,” said student doctor Jeffrey Briggs. “We didn’t just want to raise a couple hundred bucks. We wanted to do something phenomenal because it’s such a great cause and everybody has been affected by cancer in some way, shape, or form.”

The Fall Festival and 5k Run raised nearly $7,000 for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation. Participants of all ages demonstrated the power of community and resilience, proving that together, even the toughest challenges can be overcome.
