GECU Foundation THRIVE Scholarship
Purpose
The GECU Foundation is dedicated to empowering individuals within our communities by providing scholarships that foster educational opportunities and personal growth. The GECU Foundation is aligned with the credit union movement and their mission to support charitable initiatives focused on 12 development issues: education, health, hunger, housing, among others. By investing in education, the GECU Foundation aims to uplift and enrich lives, creating a brighter and more sustainable future for all. Criteria

| Eligibility Criteria | Full time second year Doctor of Osteopathic medicine student Student accepting the GECU Foundation THRIVE Scholarship will agree to complete at least three years of service in the Borderplex region, El Paso County, TX or Dona Ana County, NM post completion of their medical education and residency. Student must be deemed in good standing academically as determined by the medical school. Participates in volunteer and community service activities outside of school requirements; may include participation in academically related organizations or clinics while in Osteopathic medical school. Student must be a verified US citizen Priority will be given for students with ties to El Paso County, TX or Dona Ana County, NM. Or if not from those areas, they are committed to work in those counties to strengthen healthcare access, health, and wellness. |
