Las Cruces, N.M. — Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine is pleased to announce the appointment of Colin Malchow, CPA, as Chief Financial Officer. Malchow brings more than 17-years of strategic financial leadership in both public and private sectors.
“Colin brings a deep understanding of higher education finance and a passion for mission-driven work,” said John Hummer, president of Burrell College. “His experience will be invaluable as we continue expanding our impact in health sciences education and advancing our long-term strategic goals.”
Most recently, he served as CFO for Synergis Education, Inc.—now the healthcare arm of Risepoint—where he supported more than a dozen regional private universities through services including curriculum design, student support, technology integration and marketing. His work helped partner institutions grow key academic programs, particularly in nursing and education.
Malchow earned both his Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Master of Accounting with honors from the University of Arizona.
“I’m honored to join an institution that is not only growing, but deeply committed to improving access to healthcare through education,” said Malchow. “Having recently relocated to Las Cruces, I look forward to learning more about the community and contributing to Burrell’s continued success.”
