Marc Benson, Ph.D. is the Assistant Dean of Evaluation and Assessment and an Associate Professor of Microbiology/Immunology at the Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine in Las Cruces, NM. Dr. Benson earned a B.S. in Biology from the University of Puget Sound and a Ph.D. in Microbiology/Molecular Genetics at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Dr. Benson has ten years of experience in medical education and has taught preclinical medical students in both Osteopathic and Allopathic Medical Schools, culminating in receiving the SOMA Foundation’s George W. Northrup, D.O. Educator of the Year Award in 2022. Dr. Benson’s research interest is bacterial toxin-host interactions. In his spare time, Dr. Benson tends to his small farm in Las Cruces.
