Assistant Dean of Medical Education

Yvonne Ortega, Ph.D is the Assistant Dean of Medical Education and has served at the Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine for four years, bringing over two decades of experience in education, including twelve years in higher education. She holds a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction and is deeply committed to fostering student engagement and supporting success throughout the medical education journey. Her professional background spans faculty development, student affairs, and career counseling, providing her with a comprehensive understanding of how to integrate the practice of medicine with the demands of a rigorous academic curriculum.
