Burrell Student Physicians Inducted Into National Advocacy Honor Society

Five student physicians from Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine were inducted into Omega Beta Iota, a national honor society focused on political advocacy in osteopathic medicine.

Student physicians Anamaria Ancheta, Britany Hartshorn, Emma Kiaie, Patricia Martin, and Jake Orent were recognized for their involvement in legislative advocacy, political engagement and public service. 

Student physicians Emma Kiaie, Emily Stern and Aislin Sullivan also presented research at the event, highlighting the role of student physicians in advancing medical knowledge and influencing healthcare practices at both the local and national levels.

Founded in 2007, Omega Beta Iota honors osteopathic medical students and professionals who take an active role in shaping health policy and advancing the profession.

Burrell College continues to highlight the achievements of its student physicians as they lead through advocacy, service and a commitment to improving health care in their communities.
