If you’re traveling through New Mexico, west Texas, and southern Arizona in the coming months, be on the lookout for the Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine’s logo on billboards and buses. BCOM is working to garner brand recognition throughout the region, starting with a billboard in Albuquerque already on display on the northbound side of I-25 before the I-40 interchange. While billboards aren’t allowed in the city of Tucson, BCOM ads will be on display on the bus transit systems and during the NOVA Home Loans Arizona Bowl game on December 29 where the NMSU Aggies will be facing off against the Aggies of Utah State. In El Paso, a billboard ad near the intersection of Sun Bowl Drive and Mesa Street will go up in early January.
BCOM Chief of Staff Justin McHorse said the ads are intended to encourage prospective medical students to apply to the college, as well as to recruit physicians to sign up as preceptors to train third and fourth year medical students as they embark on their clinical clerkships. Anyone interested in signing up to be a preceptor can apply here: bcomnm.org/future-preceptors.
