The BCOM campus hosted meetings of the New Mexico Legislative Health and Human Services Committee on September 26 and the Economic and Rural Development Committee on October 11. BCOM President John L. Hummer presented at both meetings, providing an update on BCOM’s mission fulfillment and the economic benefits the college brings to New Mexico. He also encouraged the legislators to support new funding mechanisms for GME (Graduate Medical Education) development throughout the state, and to increase the amount of funds available in the Medical Loan for Service Program and the Health Professional Loan Repayment Program.
