Inaugural Class Achieves 100 Percent GME Placement

As of June 2020, all 133 graduates in the Class of 2020 have been offered residency employment in 18 different specialties across the country.

“Many may not know, but this truly is an extraordinary accomplishment,” says Don Peska, DO, MEd, dean of the college. “Not all medical schools accomplish this as several hundred medical graduates across the country find themselves without training programs each year. The results affirm the high quality of medical education our program provides. Our medical students should be commended for their hard work and dedication in achieving this milestone.”

Residency, or graduate medical education, occurs after a student graduates from medical school. Depending on the specialty a physician is pursuing, residency training lasts three to seven years and typically takes place at a hospital or clinic under the supervision of an attending physician.
