Commencement will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 8th, 2026 at the NMSU Pan American Center. Details and information related to the event will be shared on this webpage as they are finalized.

Yes, you may. Institutional policy requires that anyone serving as a guest hooder possess MD or DO credentials.

All Graduates will need to enter on the East end ramp entrance of the Pan American Center. Graduates will need to go through the NMSU Police Department metal detector and be subject to a bag check.
No, there is not a guest limit for the Pan American Center. Please note that it is a first come, first serve basis.
The Class of 2026 ceremony will be live-streamed Friday, May 8. The stream will be available for viewing at 9:15 am on Friday, May 8.

Info for Graduates
Students are required to complete the Graduate Checkout form via their CAMS Student portal. The graduate checkout will be sent to students Spring 2026
Military Promotions will take place at the Pre-Commencement Reception on May 7th. The reception will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. MDT.
The deadline to request military commissioning is March 31, 2026. Requests must be submitted in writing to April Lujan, Associate Director of Student Engagement & Outreach (email: alujan@burrell.edu) in order to be placed on the commissioning list.
Students’ legal names, as they appear in the Student Information System (CAMS), will be printed on the diploma. Diplomas will be printed on 11 x 14 paper, horizontally.
Students will also receive a Certified Electronic Diploma via email with a secured link from Paradigm after the commencement ceremony.
If a student has not yet met the graduation requirements, the date those requirements have been fulfilled will be the date issued on the diploma. (See below regarding delayed graduation.)
Diplomas will be distributed after the commencement ceremony in the Auxiliary gym, located South of the NMSU Pan American Center
Regalia orders will be shipped directly from vendor to the address you provide when placing your order.
If requirements will not be met by the date of commencement but will be completed by June 30, 2026, a student may participate in the commencement ceremony.
Any student who has not satisfied graduation requirements by the date of commencement will be conferred effective the date that all requirements are met, and all grades are received. Upon confirmation of successful completion, the diploma will be ordered by the Office of the Registrar.
