Dr. Grenemyer received his Bachelor of Science degree in biology from the University of New Mexico. He then earned his DO at the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific in California. He completed an internship at Botsford General Hospital in Michigan and a residency at Denver Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center in Colorado. He returned to Albuquerque in 1992 to practice family medicine. He worked in private practice until 1999, when he joined what is now the DaVita Medical Group. Dr. Grenemyer is happily married and the proud father of four “extremely active” girls. In his rare time off, he enjoys snow skiing, participating in triathlons, and golfing.

“I decided to become a preceptor because other DOs were good enough to precept me when I was a student, and I believe in paying it forward. The cornerstone of the osteopathic profession is DOs teaching other DOs. I’ve been teaching medical students for 27 years now and it is mutually beneficial; they teach me along with me teaching them. Working in a mid- to large-sized city like Albuquerque will give the medical students good exposure to multiple patient types. We have the premier heart hospital in the state here and a Level I Trauma Center. In my office specifically, they will be exposed to the wide range of patients we see in a general family practice, from newborns to elderly. They will see Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT) in practice on a daily basis, along with many in-office procedures, like musculoskeletal ultrasound. This is a good rotation to show the students how many options are available to them in a family practice setting.”
