Legislative Corner: Dean Mychaskiw Kisses a Pig for the PAC!

BCOM Founding Dean George Mychaskiw II, DO, came out on top as the “winner” of the Kiss a Pig for the PAC contest. This fun event was organized by BCOM Pediatrics Chair, Scott Cyrus, DO, and BCOM staff member Wendy Zuniga to raise money for the New Mexico Osteopathic Political Action Committee (NMOPAC).

Dean Mychaskiw faced off against President John Hummer and Director of Student Affairs Brett Newcomer. “Piggy” donation boxes were set up on campus with students, faculty, and staff donating towards who they most wanted to see pucker up.

“Your participation in the PAC function shows your commitment to improving the state, community, and national politics for the benefit of our students, physicians, and school,” Dr. Cyrus said.

Governmental Affairs Liaison Pilar Faulkner also spoke at the event and encouraged BCOM students to attend DO Day on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC. Students interested in attending can find information on the Student Government Association’s new website: bcomsga.org.
