Kathryn Hall, OMS III, has been named the Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine 2022-2023 Student Doctor of the Year (SDOY). Each year, Burrell Student Government Association (SGA) requests nominations of students who demonstrate the principles of leadership, community service, dedication, and professionalism. Osteopathic colleges across the country select one student from their institutions to compete for the national SDOY award. “It was really touching just to have been nominated by a peer, but to actually have been selected is an immense honor,” said Hall.
Originally from Springfield, Missouri, Hall has a physical therapy background and plans to pursue a dermatology residency. Hall has been very active in the Burrell community. She is the founder of the New Mexico Student Physician Alliance, chair of the COVID Response Team Inventory/Distribution of Protect New Mexico, and El Paso Academic Centers Representative. As Student Doctor of the Year, Hall will represent Burrell in the National Council of Osteopathic Student Government President’s SDOY competition. Learn more about her in the video below.
