Making a Difference: Shaping a New Generation of Doctors

Student doctor William Haff is steadily working toward his dream of becoming a compassionate physician through his clinical rotations at Health First in Melbourne, Florida. Under the guidance of gynecologist Dr. Scott Bovelsky, Haff is gaining invaluable hands-on experience and practical knowledge in his chosen field.

“My rotation has been incredible so far. It’s very immersive,” Haff shared. “I’ve had extensive time in the operating room and witnessed several procedures, including hysterectomies and oophorectomies. This kind of exposure is essential to my growth as a future physician.”

Dr. Bovelsky, an advocate of Burrell College’s Preceptor Program, highlights the lasting impact of clinical mentorship. “This is where students truly develop the skills they’ll carry with them throughout their medical careers,” he said.

Programs like Burrell College’s Preceptor Program reflect the institution’s core values of Service, Excellence, Community, Inclusion, and Integrity, ensuring that students not only master technical skills but also embody the highest standards of medical practice.
