Inspired by his time in the Marines, first-year student doctor Michael Yingst hopes to pursue a career in emergency medicine. When discussing with Michael what led to him choosing Burrell College in Florida, Michael stated, ”Burrell is committed to increasing the amount of physicians in Florida just as much as they are in the southwest United States.” While in the Marine Corps, Michael discovered his passion for medicine and his desire to become a doctor after treating a gunshot wound on a fellow Marine. “I learned that it was just one of those things where I felt really comfortable doing it, I was really interested, and I wanted to learn more,” shares Michael.
