Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine hosted the Honor Flight of Southern New Mexico and El Paso’s annual reunion, drawing a crowd of about 200 attendees. The event celebrated the service and sacrifices of veterans while bringing together representatives from various veterans’ groups and community organizations. The reunion offered a platform for camaraderie, reflection, and an opportunity to gear up for the next Honor Flight, scheduled for April.
Elaine Prickett, Flight Team Organizer, expressed her gratitude for the event and the community’s support. “Each Honor Flight is a way to ensure our veterans know their service is remembered and appreciated,” Prickett said. “Gathering here today with so many community members reinforces the importance of honoring their legacy.”
The upcoming flight in April will transport veterans to Washington, D.C., to visit memorials dedicated to their service. Events like the reunion serve as a reminder of the deep respect the community holds for its veterans and the critical role organizations like Honor Flight play in fostering that connection.
