Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine’s Florida campus welcomed admitted students to its Admitted Student Day on Saturday, April 5th. The event offered prospective students from all over the country a closer look at the school’s facilities, leadership, and academic programs.
“Some of our students who have been accepted to our class of ’29 are here to see the campus, tour the facilities, the classrooms, the lab, and meet our faculty and leadership from both the New Mexico and Florida campuses,” said William Pieratt, DO, FACP, Dean and Chief Academic Officer.
The day was designed to help admitted students gain insight into the Burrell College experience and prepare for the transition into medical school. Sessions throughout the day focused on curriculum, research opportunities and student support services.
“The students are very interested in what our curriculum and research are like,” said Doris Newman, DO, FAAO, Florida Campus Dean. “We can really help the admitted students understand the Burrell osteopathic medical school experience.”
Christian Morinvil, an admitted student, said the event helped him solidify his decision to attend Burrell College.
“Although it is a new school, it seems Burrell College is going in the right direction,” Mr. Morinvil said. “They are putting the right things in place to help you succeed. They are so dedicated to student success, and I felt Burrell College would be the school for me.”
Burrell College’s Las Cruces campus will host its own Admitted Student Day on Friday, April 26, to provide incoming students with similar opportunities to explore the campus, meet faculty, and learn more about the academic environment.
Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine continues to expand its offerings and facilities as it prepares to welcome its newest class later this year.
