Apply to Burrell!
Campuses in New Mexico and Florida
Thank you for your interest in learning more about how to apply to the Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine!
The Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine participates in the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine Application Service (AACOMAS) and has only one designation within the service. AACOMAS offers prospective applicants a convenient and centralized online application service for accredited osteopathic medical schools. Go to www.AACOM.org to begin the application process and designate Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Applicants who meet or exceed the minimum requirements will be invited to complete and submit a Supplemental Application. Applicants will register their preference for the New Mexico campus in Las Cruces, NM or the Florida campus in Melbourne, FL on the Supplemental Application. Applicants must submit the Supplemental Application to become eligible for further review.
Rolling Admissions
The College uses a rolling Admissions process. Pre-screened applicants will be invited to submit a Supplemental Application. Applications will be reviewed and interview invitation decisions made at regular intervals throughout the cycle. Applicants from both in-state and out-of-state are encouraged to apply; at this time the College is unable to consider international applicants.
2024 – 2025 Cycle Application Schedule
- Primary application service: AACOMAS – one designation for Burrell College
- Campus preference will be collected on the Supplemental Application
- Earliest submission date: Opening Date of AACOMAS (5/6/2024)
- Primary Application Deadline: 4/11/2025
- Supplemental Application Deadline: 5/30/2025
- For best consideration, applicants should submit their AACOMAS application by February 2025.
- Virtual Interviews Conducted (A limited number of in-person interview sessions may be available during the 2024-2025 cycle.)
Offered applicants will be required to submit necessary matriculation documents, including a seat deposit, according to the following schedule:
- Those offered a seat prior to November 15 will have 30 days to confirm acceptance of the offer. Those who have confirmed acceptance will have until December 14 to pay the accompanying non-refundable seat deposit.
- Those offered between November 15 and January 14 will have 30 days to accept the offer and submit the seat deposit.
- Those offered between January 15 and April 30 will have 14 days to accept the offer and submit the seat deposit.
- Those offered on or after May 1 may be asked for an immediate seat deposit.
- Students holding multiple acceptances at colleges of osteopathic medicine after May 1 will be notified by the Office of Admissions and provided with instructions for retaining their seat at Burrell College.
The Office of Admissions staff are here to assist applicants with navigating the application process. It is the applicant’s responsibility to track the progress of his/her application. Applicants should contact the Office of Admissions at admissions@burrell.edu with any questions. The Office of Admissions protects applicants’ privacy by limiting access to application materials to those officers and employees officially concerned with the Admissions process.
