Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine (BCOM) Admissions Director, Courtney Lewis, has been selected to be a member of the national American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine Application Service (AACOMAS) Advisory Committee. Lewis is one of eight individuals selected from across the nation to serve on the board.

“I am honored to have been selected for this committee,” Lewis says. “I look forward to representing BCOM and gaining and sharing knowledge on a national scale.”

As part of her new role, Lewis will help provide recommendations to AACOM on admissions policies and procedures; ensure that AACOMAS operations meet the needs of applicants and osteopathic medical colleges; and promote admissions best practices and the adoption and use of AACOMAS technologies to osteopathic medical schools.

AACOMAS advisory committee members are selected through nominations. Nominees are evaluated for their admissions and Common Application Services (CAS) expertise. They are then vetted and approved through the AACOM leadership team.

Lewis’ new role was announced in September and her term will last two years. She will attend her first advisory meeting this October during the national Osteopathic Medical Education (OMED) Conference.
