Office of Faculty Affairs
The Office of Faculty Affairs supports the faculty in their roles as educators, scholars, and leaders in service to accomplish Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine’s mission.
Responsibilities of the Office of Faculty Affairs include:
- Supporting medical educators through consistent faculty development in the areas of teaching and learning, student support, osteopathic philosophy and practice, scholarship, and wellness;
- Overseeing the process of faculty appointment and reappointment of all regular, affiliate, and adjunct faculty, including preceptor faculty;
- Maintaining current appointment files including appropriate credentialing for clinical and non-clinical faculty;
- Developing, communicating, and administering policies and procedures related to faculty appointment, recruitment, and evaluation;
- Reviewing and updating the Faculty Handbook;
- Maintaining and reporting faculty data relevant to appointment and work responsibilities;
- Supporting academic departments in the recruitment and selection of qualified faculty;
- Administering and distributing student evaluations of faculty;
- Updating documents and processes for annual evaluations of faculty;
- Supporting the faculty promotions process by providing resources to faculty and administrative support to the Promotions and Evaluations Committee
